New Changes

New Year. New Complications. New Opportunities. New Friends. New Relationships. New Abilities. New Experiences. New Music. New Ideas. New Talents. New Memories. New Lifestyles. New Diets.

New.New.New.

What about the old?
Old Years. Old Complications. Old Opportunities. Old Friends. Old Relationships. Old Abilities. Old Experiences. Old Music. Old Ideas. Old Talents. Old Memories. Old Lifestyles. Old Diets.

Now that we're beginning a new year why do we try to forget the past. Forgetting the past doesn't help us solve problems for the future. If anything, it holds us back. Problems, especially, always resurface.

Remember that time you got an argument you had with your brother about that one video game? Or that time you borrowed your sister's shirt without permission? How about the time your parents told you to be home by midnight and you got there at 2?

We CAN'T forget these things. Forget it and it repeats. Over and over and over again. We can only make mistakes by forgetting.

This year will bring change. No doubt.
But will we take the opportunities we are given and reflect on past mistakes to help us move forward?
.. or will we stay stationary and wait for a miracle?

Miracles don't come to those who sit and wait.
They come to those willing to work for them.. and just when your hope has dwindled to a sliver of light passing under a door into the black abyss you're resigned to.. the door opens. You've reached your miracle.. for now.
Over time the light in that room fades to nothing again and we must find the next door to progress. Keep this in mind while resolutions are on a high end.

Plan for the future by using your past.
